Objectives - To raise the ecological awareness of people living, working and enjoying Lake Memphremagog and its surrounding areas. - Lobby local, provincial and federal governments to develop and implement regulations that protect and improve the quality of life in and around the lake. - Participate in the surveillance of the water quality of the lake and its tributaries, clean-up and renaturalisation of the shoreline, and protect area plants and wildlife. - Inform and educate the public on issues involving the environment and the natural beauty of Lake Memphremagog.

Gateway Centre for Learning

Gateway Centre for Learning, formerly known as the Midland Area Reading Council, has been providing adult literacy and numeracy upgrading since 1982. Our trained volunteers are dedicated to helping adults in our community acquire reading, writing, numeracy and other life skills. In January 2012, Gateway launched child and youth tutoring programs in response to a need in the community and to end the cycle of adults needing our services.

MILTON COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTRE

Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a not-for-profit, multi-service organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities. Through our Ontario Early Years Centre and our Family Resource programs we provide early learning programs for children, their parents and caregivers at minimal or no cost to participants. MCRC's parent resource library offers a variety of resources and workshops including access to our parent educators. Through our Licensed Child Care programs, MCRC provides quality early learning and care at an affordable cost and subsidy is available for eligible families. Collaboratively with Halton Region Children Services, MCRC operates The Halton Resource Connection, which provides training, support and resources to parents, caregivers, individuals and organizations working with children and youth.
