Once they are in our care the cats are seen by our vet, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for internal & external parasites and microchipped. Some cats that have come into our care have needed dental surgery, bladder stone removal etc. We will do necessary bloodwork or tests if they are recommended by our vet. Once the cats get the OK, they are put up for adoption on our website or our in store adoption centers. We require a completed adoption application that must be approved prior to meeting with the cats. We charge a nominal adoption fee to help offset our vet costs. We are challenged with the every day costs of caring for the many cats in our care. The cost of food and litter alone is overwhelming. Add the price of veterinary care and we are always finding ourselves in debt. We rely solely on donations from the public, fundraising and our adoption fees, which covers only a portion of our costs. Most of the time the money is coming from our own pockets.

Oppsadazy Rescue and Sanctuary Society endeavours to ensure that all good-tempered, healthy animals are placed in loving, caring, stable and lifelong homes.

AARCS is a network of individuals and families concerned about the welfare of abandoned, abused and surrendered animals in the province of Alberta. Our volunteers range in age from young children to seniors and all are animal-lovers who are looking to make a difference. In addition to rescuing and rehoming homeless animals, AARCS has many programs to help the public, including Free/Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program, Emergency Medical Care Program, Emergency Foster Care Program & Humane Education Program.

It is an organization that is run solely by volunteers who love animals and want the hurt, broken, and helpless animals get another chance. After medical attention and rehabilitation, they adopt out approximately 300 animals per year, and give them a chance at security, happiness, and most of all love; so it is an organization to be proud of! People from many different communities know about the CCAR because of Beverly Archer (the proprietor of the organization), and know that she uses money out of her own pocket most of the time to help these amazing animals in need. Sheba's Haven Rescue is a unique non-profit organization, dedicated to rescuing special-needs dogs and providing palliative care for those with life-limiting, incurable illnesses. Sheba's Haven Rescue embraces these dogs as part of our family, enabling them to enjoy their remaining time in the peace and beauty of a calm, well-balanced environment. Sheba's Haven Rescue allows our dogs free reign of our magnificent, fenced, 3-acre property. A small creek, banked by bullrushes, winds through the grounds, with 4 separate bridges to cross it. Some walk through the creek instead or even lie in it, while others seek out the shade beneath a huge weeping willow.

A non-profit organization since 2006, PIP is run by a volunteer committee comprised of several members of the Saskatoon business community who are dedicated to providing a humane and safe environment for Saskatoon's animals, as well as representatives from the local animal welfare agencies: New Hope Dog Rescue, SCAT Street Cat Rescue and the Saskatoon SPCA. Kindness to animals creates a better world for us all! Primary Fundraiser: Annual Pets in the Park held on a July Sunday and includes music, food, demos, walkathon, trade booths and silent auction. A fun day in the park for the whole family including the family pet (on leash). Great opportunity for the pet to socialize with other pets and for pet parents to meet other pet parents.

Western Purple Martin Foundation is currently working on the conservation of western Purple Martins in British Columbia where they are a Species At Risk and are only found around the Strait of Georgia. Much of the western Purple Martin natural nesting habitat was destroyed through land clearing activities and this bird species almost became locally extinct. Only 5 known breeding pairs remained in 1985. Through a successful nest box stewardship and recovery program a large number of caring volunteers have helped increase the BC Purple Martin population to our short-term goal of 800 pairs in 2012. The BC population continues to grow and reached ~950 pairs in 2013. Our long-term goal is to re-introduce BC Purple Martins back into remaining natural nesting habitat in open forest and near freshwater. Together we can build on almost 30 years of success, preserve species diversity and return martins to their natural nesting habitat.

Founded in late 2008, WildAid Canada has been active building partnerships with business, educators and government. WildAid has been working to formally integrate trade issues into wildlife programs of government. PSAs have carried our message to hundreds of thousands of Canadians through the media and broadcasters. We have also introduced landmark wildlife legislation. For 2011, the organization will implement a program in partnership with Canada’s largest school board reaching over 100,000 Ontario students. We will work to enact comprehensive trade bans on shark fining at both the provincial and federal level. We will continue to solicit and grow our network of partners for PSA distribution.

By donating to the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, you are supporting projects that help B.C.'s fish and wildlife population and habitats. As is the case with the leading international zoo and aquarium associations, CAZA and its members have moved on from the role of “animal keepers” to a progressive stance in the movement to preserve the world’s biodiversity.
