Founded by Sean Penn and Ann Lee, CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) was initially established as J/P HRO in response to the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Since then, CORE has scaled exponentially as a global humanitarian organization working to meet the growing needs of vulnerable communities worldwide. We’ve worked on five continents responding to natural disasters, conflict, food insecurity, disease outbreaks, climate change, and public health emergencies. Powered by local staff, CORE adapts our programs to the dynamic needs of communities as they evolve in and beyond crises. We’re a nimble organization that quickly adapts to communities’ needs as they evolve. Our efforts are fueled by local hands, and we partner with local leaders, organizations, governments, and other stakeholders to bring equitable relief directly to those who need it most.

Through education and outreach we support those affected by Lewy body dementias, and promote research for a cure.

The Blood Cancer United mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Blood Cancer United funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care.

For over 30 years, Best Friends Animal Society has been running the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and building effective programs that reduce the number of animals entering shelters. The mission of Best Friends Animal Society is to bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. The organization does this by helping end the killing in America's animal shelters through building community programs and partnerships all across the United States.

Silence the Shame, Inc. is dedicated to revolutionizing mental health in vulnerable communities. Our holistic approach addresses the root causes of mental health stigma, reduces suicide rates, and improves overall health outcomes. We believe in treating mental health as a spectrum, focusing on wellness, prevention, and recovery in addition to illness. By recognizing the connection between mental and physical well-being, we strive to eliminate barriers to care and advocate for better environmental conditions. Through innovative programs promoting health literacy, equity, positive youth development, and self-care, we are creating a culture of support and healing. STS partners with professionals and subject matter experts to change how we think and discuss mental health to drive more people to care and recovery. STS creates platforms for individuals with lived experiences to share and encourage others to prioritize mental wellness. WHAT WE DO Mental Health Literacy STS signature programs include Community Conversations, Self-Care Socials, Mental Wellness Seminars, and evidence-based training like Mental Health First Aid, Question Persuade & Refer, and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means. to eliminate mental health stigma, practice healthy coping strategies, and access behavioral health resource. We utilize media platforms, including podcasts and social media content to further expand mental health education. Positive Youth Development STS Youth Mental Wellness COPE Clinic & Silence the Shame University (STSU) offers workshops, self-care activities, and discussions for youth and young adults to learn about mental health, crisis signs, and coping skills. We support the Youth Advisory Council and Ambassador to build youth leaders and amplify their voices. Caregivers attend a Parent Café to raise resilient teens. STSU engages college students in prioritizing their well-being and supporting their peers in accessing behavioral health resources. Community Outreach & Engagement We promote the implementation of mental health awareness strategies, self-care activities, and community outreach to support vulnerable populations at-risk of behavioral health challenges. We promote whole health and mental wellness all while combatting discrimination and the shame associated with mental illness.

Advocates for Children and Families, Inc. (ACF) was founded in 1992 to provide ethical adoption services to children and families. Throughout our 30 years of operation there have been many changes in legislation and advances in the evidence-based social sciences related to adoption, that have influenced our model of practice. One aspect of our work that has never changed is ACF's child-centered approach of prioritizing the well-being of children. Our mission is to promote and assist in the formation of stable families. The well-being of children is our priority. We believe every child deserves a permanent home in a safe, nurturing environment.  Our team is comprised of attorneys, licensed mental health professionals, and support staff who are specially trained and continually engaged in advancements within the field of child welfare and adoption. ACF's commitment to advocating for children and families has resulted in over 1,026 children finding stability and permanency within a nurturing family. By supporting Advocates for Children and Families, you are participating in improving the lives of children and families. Charitable contributions allow us to: 1) Find forever families for children with special needs. 2) Meet basic needs including housing, utilities, food, and clothing for families in crisis. 3) Support parents in creating individualized solution-focused plans to move from crisis to stability. 4) Provide trauma-informed clinical counseling services.

Established in 2005, The GEANCO Foundation saves and transforms lives in Africa. We conduct complex surgical missions and run an innovative program to fight anemia in Nigeria. Through our system of modern, solar-powered rural maternal clinics, we help poor, vulnerable pregnant women safely deliver healthy babies. In addition to donating laptops, tablets, books, medicine and sports facilities to schools, our David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls provides full tuition, healthcare, and social & psychological support to young female survivors of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria. Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement. 69% of children in America are on free or reduced meals at their schools. Blessings in a Backpack is designed to feed these kids on the weekends by sending them home on Fridays with backpacks filled with staples that require little to no preparation. Starting at just $100, Blessings in a Backpack can feed a child for an entire school year. Since 2009, Blessings in a Backpack has provided 23.5 million hunger-free weekends for more than 838,000 children nationwide.

The Legal Defense Fund (LDF) is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Using the power of law, narrative, research, and people, the organization defends and advances the full dignity and citizenship of Black people in America. Through advocacy and litigation, LDF focuses on issues of education, voter protection, economic justice and criminal justice. Pursuing racial justice to move the U.S. toward a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans.
