Alberta Masonic Higher Education Bursary Fund

The Masonic Higher Education Bursary was established by Most Worshipful Brother Ross Sheppard, an Edmonton School Superintendent as the Official Outreach Charity of the Freemasons under the Grand Lodge of Alberta. The first four bursaries of $500.00 were given in 1959. Today, the Grand Lodge of Alberta continues to raise funds to assist students, who are in financial need, to attend university or college.

GREATER VICTORIA POLICE VICTIM SERVICES

Greater Victoria Police Victim Services is a volunteer-based organization which supports four municipal police forces and two RCMP detachments to provide emotional and practical support to victims of crime and trauma. Support is for victims and witnesses of all types of crime including spousal assault, robbery, homicide, assault and harassment. Support is also given to those affected by traumatic events such as Motor Vehicle Incidents, sudden death and suicide.

CENTRES FOR SENIORS WINDSOR (o/a Life After Fifty)

Centres for Seniors Windsor offers a wide array of social, educational and active living programs for adults 50 years and older. We are very busy supporting 900-plus members through creative arts (sewing, ceramics, quilting, scrapbooking, etc), recreation (from pickleball to elderarobics, acquafit and Wii bowling), plus social events (euchre, bridge, pepper, billards) and lapidary, silversmithing and woodworking. Our cafe offers high quality low cost lunches. Our Community Support Services, which are open to all, features transportation to appointments, Friendly Visiting, Telephone Reassurance. basic home maintenance and general footcare. We serve more than 1,200 clients. We offer 2 sites for one membership - our McEwan Site at Campbell and Wyandotte W, and our East Side Centre within the WFCU Centre at McHugh and Lauzon Rd. All activities are developed to stimulate cognitive and motor function, as well as promote social interaction to combat isolation.

Founded in 1965 by determined family members, Community Living – Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln is a not-for-profit charitable organization that serves all of West Niagara. Children, adults and their families are supported through a variety of programs that include one or several of the following services including adult day service, 24 hour supports at twelve adult residential homes & one children’s residence, children’s respite services, family support, family home share, special services at home and supported employment. Community Living – Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln serveS over 300 individuals annually.
