The Ark Aid Street Mission is a Christian faith based non-profit service agency supported by the cheerful donors and volunteers of London and area. The work and ministry of the Ark Aid Street Mission Inc. is dedicated to helping anyone regardless of colour, race or creed. The basis of our efforts is a nightly meal served free to anyone who comes. Current additional services include a new and used clothing outlet, computer and basic academic tutoring, an afternoon snack and fellowship time, art and craft program, and counseling. We accept requests for shelter at all times. We offer counselling and support as well as follow-up services for each resident. Thanks to our telephone support services and outreach program, we also provide assistance to women who do not require shelter. Our personnel speak English, French and Spanish; in addition, interpreters are called in whenever needed. Community Living Winnipeg, which incorporated in 1958, was started by parents who were concerned about the lack of services for their children who had an intellectual disability. Over the years there have been many changes as Community Living Winnipeg grew from a residential and day program service provider to its current role as an advocacy and resource organization. The Association of Neighbourhood Houses is a private non-profit social service agency representing seven individual neighbourhood houses and one outdoor centre located throughout the Vancouver Lower Mainland. The society has been in existence in British Columbia since 1894 serving the ever changing needs of a variety of diverse neighbourhoods and communities. We endeavor to provide a warm and friendly place where people of all ages and nationalities come together to meet the needs of their neighbourhood and play an active role in making their communities better places to live healthy, full lives.
