Denver Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dating back to 1946, which provides long-term educational and social/emotional counseling and mentoring to boys and girls who are students in the Denver Public Schools who face challenges associated with higher-risk environments. The mission is to empower students to positively shape their lives, successfully complete high school, and pursue post-secondary options. Each student is guided by a Denver Kids Educational SEL Counselor who provides one-to-one counseling to address a variety of needs for each student on an individual basis. Denver Kids are also matched on a one-to-one basis with a volunteer from the community who commits his or her time and energy to serve as a volunteer mentor for a minimum of one year. The volunteer mentor receives training and guidance and serves as a positive adult role model in the student's life.

Florida’s Children First, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the rights of at-risk children and youth; the organization seeks full representation of children and youth and meaningful and sustainable improvement in Florida’s child-serving systems using a range of strategies including public policy development, on-going training and technical assistance, and where necessary, strategic litigation.

For Love of Children is a 501(c)(3), community-based nonprofit organization that has been working with young people and their families in Washington, D.C. since 1965. FLOC’s mission is to provide educational services beyond the classroom to help DC students succeed from first grade through college and career. FLOC leverages a network of professional staff, trained volunteers, engaged families, and active community partners to teach, empower, and transform students’ lives. Almost 600 students access FLOC’s after-school, weekend and summer programs at public schools across DC, in FLOC’s headquarters in Ward 1, and at FLOC’s Outdoor Education Center in West Virginia.

DreamYard is committed to helping transform Bronx schools and communities through the power of innovative, project based arts education. Our schools and students are based in the nation's poorest urban county, with one-third of the Bronx's residents living below the poverty line. In response, DreamYard programs are designed to challenge the cyclical systems of inequality and poverty by empowering youth to discover and develop their best possible selves and to locate meaningful paths and ways to engage with their fellow students, schools, families, and communities. As the largest arts education provider in the Bronx, DreamYard critically impacts the social and intellectual growth of thousands of Bronx youth through safe, positive and creatively challenging programs. DreamYard's team of professional artists partner with classroom teachers and community educators to help students learn how to express, write and perform their own stories. Through year-long programs offered during the school day, after school, on weekends and during the summer, DreamYard supports youth development, enhances life-long learning skills, and promotes creative thinking and expression. Friends of the Children NY is an early intervention program that screens and selects children in kindergarten who are the most at-risk of school failure, juvenile delinquency, and early parenting.
