The Food Bank’s mission is to work in partnership with the community to feed the hungry, increase awareness of the effects of hunger and lead programs designed to alleviate hunger.

Book Baskets, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was established in 1995 with the goal of encouraging reading through book ownership. For over 20 years we have been deeply committed to giving new or lightly used books to those children in our area who might not otherwise have books of their own. We currently serve over 30 local social service agencies or education programs. On average, we place over 20,000 books per year into the appreciative hands of children from the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area. A small bookplate is placed in the front of each book, allowing the recipient to identify the gift book as his or her own.

The Hilton Head Island Deep Well Project will address the basic needs of our clients, while working with them longer term, to foster greater self-sufficiency.

PROVIDING FOOD ASSISTANCE

OUR MISSION IS TO ENSURE THE AVAILABILITY, ACCESS, AND AFFORDABILITY OF LOCALLY PRODUCED FOOD BY CONNECTING LOCAL FARMERS AND ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGH PROGRAMS, AWARENESS, AND ADVOCACY.

NEST (Nutrition, Education, Safety, Transformation) Community Learning Center (CLC) was founded in March 2016 with the mission to address academic and non-academic barriers that perpetuate the cycle of generational poverty in suburban communities. NEST CLC provides sound Nutrition and targeted Education in a Safe neighborhood environment to Transform the outcome of at-risk school-age children. Through its innovative mobile classroom, NEST delivers free, workable, proven programs and strategies to the suburban poor in their own “backyard” affording those it serves a fighting chance to change their futures.

TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF HEALTHY, FRESH, LOCAL FOOD FOR UNDER-SERVED RESIDENTS IN WESTERN PA

Haiti Mission Incorporated (HMI) is a Louisiana-based, international, development organization that helps build sustainable projects to bring hope, respect, dignity, joy, and faith to the people of Haiti.

Increase sustainable food security in south Corvallis by providing emergency food boxes, information and opportunities with compassion and respect.

To provide 3-5 days of emergency food provisions to the underemployed, unemployed and otherwise disadvantage residents of Indian River County

To empower refugees through opportunities that provide for their well-being, education and employment.

Address the weight and health needs of low-income residents of Richmond and San Pablo, California.
