It is the mission of Little Friends to empower children and adults with special challenges to live, learn, work and participate in the community. Since 1965, Little Friends has been dedicated to serving people with disabilities in our community. We are a local organization--based in Naperville, Illinois and serving families from throughout six counties in the western suburbs. But our influence extends far beyond the Chicago area. More than 50 school districts turn to us for assistance with some of their most challenging students. Families from all over Illinois attend our training for parents of children with autism. National conferences feature our staff as speakers. It is an honor for us to be able to share what we've learned with other professionals and families.

“One group of adolescents at greatest risk of failing to make successful transitions to adulthood are delinquent youth who end up in the "deep end" of the juvenile justice system, in its detention centers and other locked institutions.”* Mentoring, A Touch From Above (MATFA) was founded in 1998 precisely to help these young people in the "deep end" make a successful transition to adulthood. MATFA mentors incarcerated and at-risk youth to help them become positive, productive young adults by emphasizing accountability and forgiveness and providing life skills. MATFA trains and supports mentors to help youth in the program acquire skills for successful and positive re-entry into society. The mission of the Children Youth and Family Collaborative is to establish partnerships with youth-centered organizations and community volunteers to serve youth who are at-risk or in foster care for the purpose of enhancing, supporting and providing a holistic approach to their educational, vocational and overall well-being.
