CHOSA's mission is to identify and support communities and community-based organizations (CBOs) that reach out and take care of orphans and other vulnerable children in South Africa. CHOSA takes a holistic and non-directive approach to community development which helps empower other marginalized people in these communities. Moreover, through community participation and ownership of the development process, CHOSA promotes local action, self-empowerment, and peer-to-peer networking as essential strategies for community-driven development. We do this by providing five major services to the projects with whom we partner: Once-off grants, Ongoing grants, Capacity building, Networking, and After-school programs. Driven by the principle that communities should own their development process, we provide our partners with unrestricted funding and a supportive relationship that promotes autonomous decision-making.

Mission: We are committed to a culture of responsibility and dignity and to leading our local community in the fight against hunger by efficiently providing access to food and nutritious meals. Feeding San Diego builds local and national partnerships with purpose. Founded in 2007 by the wildfires in San Diego, Feeding San Diego is now the leading hunger-relief organization in the county, distributing healthy food with dignity to San Diego residents struggling with hunger. Our non-profit organization, funded by philanthropic and community support, is devoted to feeding the hungry, advocacy and education. FSD is committed to solving hunger in our communities and informing the public on the issues of food insecurity, nutrition and poverty. We fight hunger locally by working hand-in-hand with partner agencies, local school districts, corporate partners and a network of volunteers to serve 63,000 children, families and seniors in need each week. This past year, we provided over 25 million meals to San Diegans struggling with food insecurity - an 18 percent increase from the previous year, which indicates that more families in need are seeking our services than ever before. Each year, Feeding San Diego is working to move more food into the community in order to close the meal gap. Feeding San Diego takes a holistic approach to solving hunger and food-related issues in our community. We fight hunger locally by working hand-in-hand with 150 agency partners (food pantries, soup kitchens, healthcare centers and other community resources) and through direct service programs in areas central to clients' lives (School Pantries, Mobile Pantry sites, senior centers, USO sites) to provide healthy food with dignity to 63,000 children, families and seniors in need each week. Our unique distribution model, which leverages both national and local partnerships, ensures that we are not simply banking food - we are Feeding San Diego. In addition to our food-service programs, Feeding San Diego acts as an advocate at the local and state level to protect government hunger-relief services like CalFresh. CalFresh is an assistance program crucial to helping low-income, food-insecure families stretch their grocery budgets, freeing limited resources for use on other household essentials. Feeding San Diego holds numerous outreach events designed to help clients determine their CalFresh eligibility and apply to the program.

It’s simple really. People loving people. It sounds so easy, yet with the distractions of everyday life, it often gets pushed aside. It’s little things… like a smile, a touch, a hug, an ear to listen or a gift that fills a need. All summed up, this is what God calls us to do – love Him and love others to glorify Him. In response, Love Your Neighbor was formed. Jesus transformed my heart and inspired me to reach out to the community using interior design. A mission based not only on God’s design for us to love each other, but also on the gift of design God gives artists. It is about connection, care and compassion instilled into wellness programs to serve the local community. Our main program is the House to Home Initiative which designs and fully furnishes homes for families transitioning out of difficult situations as an expression of our faith and to allow for a calm, inviting and comfortable environment free of stress and uncertainty.

To improve the lives of persons affected by myositis, fund innovative research and increase myositis awareness and advocacy.

Border Angels is a nonprofit organization that advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice, with a special focus on issues related to the US-Mexican border. Border Angels engages in community education and awareness programs that include guided trips to the desert to place water along migrant crossing routes and to the border wall to learn about the history of US-Mexico border policy and experience the border fence firsthand. Border Angels also works to serve San Diego County’s immigrant population through various migrant outreach programs such as Day Laborer outreach, Volviendo A Cas, and the Green Cards for Kids Program. Border Angels works to dispel the various myths surrounding immigration in the United States and to bring back truth and justice.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA) provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. Temporary, affordable housing is provided for families of sick or injured children, just one block from Children's of Alabama and UAB Hospital.

Acton Food Pantry is committed to alleviating food insecurity in our area by partnering with the community to provide access to food with care, dignity, and respect.

The Giving Back Fund is a national public charity with the following goals: To help cultivate a new group of philanthropists within the entertainment and sports industries, with a particular emphasis on groups often underrepresented in traditional philanthropy such as people of color, women, and youth. A Precious Child assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations and poverty. We work with more than 400 agency partners throughout eight Denver Metro counties [Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson and Weld] to identify children and families in the most need of our services. Our core initiatives help build the whole child. In addition to meeting basic human needs through our Resource Center and Boutiques (satellite resource centers), we also help children and their families navigate community resources. This work is done through our COR (Child Outcomes Resource) Center where our Child Outcomes Advocates provide personalized case management to disadvantaged and displaced children and families, connecting them with needed resources, services, opportunities and educational support. Second Harvest Food Bank is leading our community in the fight to end hunger. We provide food, services, and education to address nutritional needs of all people at risk in an 18-county service area, including: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland, Fentress, Hamblen, Grainger, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Union. Food banks are by far the single most important source of food for nonprofit agencies in East Tennessee, accounting for 78% of the food distributed by pantries, 68% of the food distributed by soup kitchens, and 54% of the food distributed by shelters and drug-rehab centers. Many of the agencies who feed the hungry would not be able to keep their doors open were it not for Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. Second Harvest Food Bank provides the following services to meet the needs of our communities: 1) Distributes over 15 million meals of food annually through six major food-distribution programs. 2) Recovers 8 million pounds of perishable foods that would otherwise be discarded, and redistributes that food to local soup kitchens, food pantries, and senior facilities who directly serve the hungry. 3) Provides supplemental food for over 12,150 elementary school children over the weekends during the school year. 4) Collaborates with Knox County Community Action Committee and the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service Inc. to meet the nutritional needs of approximately 950 seniors through our Senior Outreach. 5) Administers Federal Food Programs (USDA) for local agencies. 6) Provides education for partners agencies, including ServSafe training.

Voices of Our City amplifies the voices of people impacted by homelessness through music and the arts. Our Choir Members develop renewed hope, personal empowerment, and the life skills to achieve their goals.

HomeFront’s mission is to end homelessness in Central New Jersey by harnessing the caring, resources and expertise of the community. We lessen the immediate pain of homelessness and help families become self-sufficient. We work to give our clients the skills and opportunities to ensure adequate incomes, and we work to increase the availability of adequate, affordable housing. We help homeless families advocate for themselves individually and collectively.
