People of the community working together to feed the hungry in Body, Mind and Spirit.
PROVIDE RESORCES AND CRITICAL INFORMATION We advocate and empower grandparents raising grandchildren by providing access to resources, information and support.
We create peace of mind by providing compassionate care and support to those who need us. People of all ages turn to Avow for various kinds of support. As a result, we cast our mission statement to define our 'customers' as "those who need us;" similarly, we defined the universal service we provide as "creating peace of mind." Some people we help are terminally ill, others are grieving. Some need education on how to be a compassionate caregiver. Some are children working through a loss. Because there is such variety in our clients and why they turn to us, we think our mission statement explains what we universally work to provide: peace of mind.

Covenant House California (CHC) is a non-profit agency whose mission is to reach out to at-risk homeless youth living on the streets and offer them hope and opportunities to turn their lives around. We help abused or neglected youth who have nowhere else to go. A large number have been thrown out of their homes while others have aged out or left the foster care system with no family, no support, and no one to turn to. Since 1988, CHC has impacted the lives of more than 160,000 homeless youth out of our Los Angeles and Bay Area locations. More than 80% of our funding comes from private donations.
As cancer survivors, we embrace the moment and show the world that there can be a purposeful life after a cancer diagnoses. PINK PHURREE (pronounced "fury"), Texas' first all women and cancer survivor dragon Boat Team, was founded by Frances Arzu' in 2007. PINK PHURREE, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is an unconventional cancer support group where dragon boat paddling is used to promote active survivorship both on and off the water. As members of the International Breast Cancer Survivor Paddler Commission, we are a breast cancer survivor team. Even so, we do encourage survivors that have been diagnosed with other types of cancer to join our crew as well. As Pink Phurree embraces new survivors, the journey continues to expand our ability to touch and enrich many lives. No experience or athletic ability required!

Our mission at Farm Lot 59 is to incubate and inspire the culture of urban farming in our community through education, food accessibility, and by serving as a model of regenerative agriculture practices. We envision a world where our farm is a hub for connection and hands-on learning — a place where you can learn how to grow your own food, explore healthier ways of living, and discover pathways to meaningful local work. Through our Farm to Food Bank program, we provide fresh, nutrient-rich vegetables to our neighbors in need. Our social enterprise flower shop helps fund this work, turning the beauty of our farm into support for the community. And through outdoor education programs, we invite students, volunteers, and visitors to dig in, learn new skills, and see what’s possible in urban farming. We believe in cultivating a healthier, more resilient future — a future where everyone has access to fresh food, opportunities for meaningful work, and the tools to live sustainably. Everything we do is grounded in the principles of responsible agriculture, hands-on education, and creating equitable access to fresh, nourishing food for our entire community.
