THE CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION has been established to promote and further the legacy of Captain Paul Watson. To focus on the protection and conservation of the Ocean through direct intervention supported by education, documentation, research activities and partnerships with other NGOs, governments and international institutions like the United Nations. It will be made up of a small team that will prevent any future interference or dilution of the overall vision of Paul's legacy by keeping management and bureaucracy minimal.

NumFOCUS envisions an inclusive scientific and research community that utilizes actively supported open source software to make impactful discoveries for a better world. The mission of NumFOCUS is to promote open practices in research, data, and scientific computing by serving as a fiscal sponsor for open source projects and organizing community-driven educational programs.

Our mission is to fund SURF1 gene therapy research at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The field of gene therapy has gone through remarkable breakthroughs these last few years and offers incredible promise for several rare genetic diseases such as SURF1 Leigh syndrome. We are fortunate to partner with the team at UTSW who have years of experience in this field and are at the forefront of gene therapy research. Our hope is that this research project will lead to an FDA approved clinical trial, which would be the first step in finding a cure for this devastating disease. ​

The AI Education Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit centering equity and accessibility in AI education. They educate students—especially those disproportionately impacted by AI and automation—with the conceptual knowledge and skills they need to thrive as future workers, creators, consumers, and citizens.
