Reeves-Reed Arboretum engages, educates and enriches its visitors so they become better stewards of nature and the environment. We achieve this mission through the care and utilization of an historic estate and gardens, and world-class environmental education, arts, and cultural programs.

Committed to inspiring curiosity through exploration, the Buffalo Museum of Science is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to providing relevant science programming and services to children, families, adults, and schools in the Buffalo Niagara region. Through exhibits and interactive science studios designed for multi-generational learning, the Museum showcases its extensive collections of over 700,000 specimens and artifacts representing all facets of the natural world with an emphasis on Western New York. Opened in 1929 in Buffalo’s Olmsted-designed Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, the Museum is currently installing eight permanent interactive science studios to transform its visitor experience by 2017. To promote and foster excellence in collegiate aviation education by providing a forum for students, faculty, staff and practitioners to share ideas, to enhance the quality of education, and to develop stronger programs and curricula. To advance knowledge and stewardship of freshwater systems through global research, education, and restoration

The National Marine Life Center rehabilitates and releases stranded marine mammals and sea turtles in order to advance science and education in marine wildlife health and conservation.

It is the purpose of the Nature Center to foster an appreciation for nature and to promote a sustainable future by nurturing individuals through environmental education, providing leadership in land protection and restoration, and encouraging responsible interaction with nature.

The Center for Coastal Studies conducts scientific research with emphasis on marine mammals of the western North Atlantic and on the coastal and marine habitats and resources of the Gulf of Maine. We promote stewardship of coastal and marine ecosystems and conduct educational activities that encourage responsible use and conservation. We collaborate with other institutions and individuals whenever possible to advance our mission.

The Climate Science Legal Defense Fund (CSLDF) protects the scientific endeavor by putting its legal expertise to work for scientists who are threatened or silenced due to their findings or fields of study. Our work preserves and expands scientists’ rights and strengthens the legal protections that promote scientific integrity.We do this by:- Offering free legal aid to scientists- Educating researchers about their rights and responsibilities- Sharing strategies and information about cases with attorneys- Publicizing attacks on science

TO ADDRESS GEOLOGIC ASPECTS OF ISSUES DEALING WITH THE WORLD'S CHANGING ENERGY CHALLENGES, USES, SAFETY, POLICIES AND ASSOCIATED ENVIRONMENTAL QUESTIONS. TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY ON THE IMPORTANCE OF GEOLOGIC MAPS, CROSS SECTIONS, AND OTHER GEOLOGIC DATA & INTERPRETATIONS. TO ASSIST AND ADVISE VARIOUS GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES WITH INSTRUCTION AND SHARING GEOLOGIC DATA SETS AND INTERPREATIONS. TO PRESERVE GEOLOGIC MAPS AND CROSS SECTIONS, DIGITIZING THEM SO THAT THEY CAN BE PRESERVED IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) FILES AND MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC VIA THE FOUNDATION'S WEB SITE.

In the aftermath of the Challenger accident, the crew’s families came together, firmly committed to the belief that they must carry on the spirit of their loved ones by continuing the Challenger crew’s educational mission. Their efforts resulted in the creation of Challenger Center for Space Science Education. Challenger Center and its global network of Challenger learning centers use space-themed simulated learning and role-playing strategies to help students bring their classroom studies to life and cultivate skills needed for future success, such as problem solving, critical thinking, communication and teamwork. A not-for-profit 501(c)(3) education organization, Challenger Center reaches hundreds of thousands of students, and tens of thousands of teachers every year. Challenger Center relies on donations from private individuals and corporations to create mission content, deliver quality education experiences, build unique simulation centers, incorporate new technology, train educators and engage students in robust learning projects.
