Turning Point is a safe place where ALL survivors of domestic and intimate partner abuse and their children can find refuge. Our Mission is to eliminate domestic and intimate partner abuse in the Lehigh Valley through survivor empowerment, and community education and engagement. We provide services in Lehigh and Northampton counties and reached over 3,500 people in fiscal year 2021-2022 through our trauma-informed, inclusive programs and services. Those include: a 24-hour Helpline, Emergency Safe House, Empowerment Counseling and Groups, Legal Advocacy, Education and Training, and Medical Advocacy.

We work to achieve this goal through litigation and regulatory programs that ensure water quality protections in waterways throughout L.A. County. LA Waterkeeper’s Litigation & Advocacy, Marine, and Water Quality teams conduct interconnected projects that serve this mission.

We achieve this by: facilitating and providing palliative care education and training opportunities for care providers acting as an information resource for professionals, health care providers and policy makers developing collaborative strategies for hospice and palliative care providers, organizations, institutions and individuals

To help impoverished children succeed in life. We enable children to access schools and we help them to stay there, by paying fees, teaching life skills, providing counseling when problems arise, providing medical help when needed and making sure every child has at least one square meal every day. We provide both formal education and technical training for children who would otherwise suffer hunger, disease and permanent poverty.

The mission of the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) is to ensure that the legal system is accessible to those who, because of special needs or the overwhelming burdens of poverty, would not otherwise have their rights protected or their voices heard. Since its founding in 1992, the VLP has maintained as its objective the practical realization of justice for the poor. Through the VLP, dedicated volunteer attorneys from the private bar, trained and supervised by the VLP, have provided critical pro bono assistance to thousands of vulnerable individuals and families from all neighborhoods in Brooklyn, New York.
