Founded in 2002, the RDS Foundation and Sutherland Bipolar Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people and their families impacted by bipolar disorder. We have helped over 1600 people for more than 15 years-- people who would not have been able to get the treatment that they need elsewhere because of financial difficulties. Our clients pay little to no money for services (typically $0-20/session), and we don't take insurance. Because of this, our Center runs mostly on grants and donations. We offer a comprehensive initial diagnosis, psychotherapy (e.g. individual, family and/or group) and psychoeducation (an 8-week Seminar that covers 12 hours of information not available anywhere). In collaboration with the University of Colorado in Boulder, the clinic is housed at the Muenzinger building in the Psychology Department. Our clinic is staffed by a licensed clinical psychologist who also mentors and directs highly qualified doctoral Psychology graduate students from the University.
