The Lupus Foundation of America, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter's mission is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, support individuals and families affected by the disease, increase awareness of lupus among health professionals and the public, and find the causes and cure.
It is our mission to support and educate couples suffering from infertility so that they can make dignified choices as they proceed on their journey. We have a 1-800 support line, publish the only Canadian quarterly magazine about infertility, have our own website which displays a wealth of information and a patient forum. We also have 30 volunteer Chapter Leaders who are operating support groups from coast to coast and we have public service announcements being aired on the radio from coast to coast.

Planned Parenthood is a non-profit, pro-choice sexual health centre serving all parts of the province. Our Goals are to: * To provide knowledge, resources and skills needed to make informed sexual health choices * To promote positive sexual health attitudes and practices. * To encourage a pro-active approach to sexual health education and practices. * To provide sexual health services and education in cooperation with community partners. We work cooperatively with community-based and government organizations to achieve the goals of positive attitudes toward sexuality, responsible sexual practices and preventive health care.
Planned Parenthood Regina offers the services of physicians, a nurse practitioner and registered nurses at our sexual health clinic. The clinic is open 50 hours a week serving young people. Our education program offers prevention, harm reduction, peer support and girls programming. These activities range from girls summer camps to safe spaces at festivals to presentations in high-schools. Attending community events and working with specific client groups are a few of our activities. Our objective is to support youth through building knowledge and coping skills, helping them where they are at in an effort to reduce unplanned pregnancy and reduce STI and other infections.
The Parkdale Food Centre is part of the Ottawa Food Bank’s distribution network. It serves the Hintonburg, Mechanicsville, Civic Hospital and Wellington West neighbourhoods. It is a not-for-profit, volunteer- run organization that provides emergency food aid to individuals and families in need. The Centre is funded in part by the City of Ottawa and local churches, with additional donations provided by individuals and local businesses. The Centre is currently experiencing a budget shortfall so is in the midst of a fundraising drive to support its 2014 programs. Our Mission At the Parkdale Food Centre, our mission is to provide healthy food, nutritional education and a warm and welcoming environment to our neighbors in need.
