We are committed to access and equity in pediatric cancer care. Our mission is to partner with pediatric cancer families to take the logistical stress out of finding a cure for their child.
Zcharia came to Kansas City in 2005. He soon became involved with the Kerala Association of Kansas City and became the sports coordinator. He became an active member of the volleyball community in Kansas City, participating in their Friday practices, local tournaments, and even the famous Jimmy George Volleyball Tournament held in New York. More than playing, he enjoyed connecting with people and introduced many people to volleyball. In 2010, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. This put a damper on his ability to play the game he enjoyed. But soon after his first treatment of chemotherapy, he started playing volleyball with his friends again. This ended soon towards the middle of 2013 as his disease got worse. On December 21st, 2013, Zcharia Jose passed away.
Ayden’s Army of Angels provides resources financial and nutritional, to any families effected by Pediatric Cancer.We also know the importance of creating memories, so we host a variety of events throughout the year, not only to bring awareness, but to provide families the opportunity to create lasting memories. Our primary funding has come from Ayden himself. Prior to Ayden’s passing we raised 265k to seek him alternative treatment. Before we could get to those options, Ayden passed. I have taken the remainder of Aydens GoFundMe and opened the Foundation. Since September of 2017, I have issued over $30k in grants to Cancer Families. We have also hosted several parties and events for the families all at no cost to them.

SebastianStrong Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is raising awareness of childhood cancers and funding research for less toxic, more targeted childhood cancer treatments and cures. SebastianStrong was founded in 2017 to honor the life of Sebastian Ortiz (2000-2016) and his courageous 14-month battle with rhabdomyosarcoma. Since then, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to fund new and cutting-edge medical research across the country in the hopes of one day eradicating childhood cancers. The Foundation also provides financial support to assist kids and their families with the hardships of battling cancer.
