The Newfoundland & Labrador Association For Community Living (NLACL) is a provincial advocacy association dedicated to developing communities that welcome persons with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1956, and incorporated in 1976, this organization has 18 local voluntary associations that provide support in rural areas throughout Newfoundland & Labrador. This association is also one of twelve provincial and territorial associations that are affiliated with the Canadian Association for Community Living (CACL). We are a registered non-profit organization. A Volunteer Board of Directors consisting of an executive committee and 18 board members governs the NLACL. The day-to-day operations are administered by a management team. Core funding is provided by the Provincial Government. Fundraising is generated through special events, donations and bequeaths.

Founded in 1969, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to raising funds for the preservation & rehabilitaiton of our natural environment for present & future generations. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from many walks of life, it exists to raise support & funding for projects of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. Often, these projects are not eligible for traditional government funding, or other funding is not sufficient or available. When you donate to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation, you help support projects that contribute to bettering the quality of life through improved water quality, more green spaces, protected wetlands and habitat for fish & wildlife.

What We Do: We assist adults over the age of 18, improve their literacy skills: - Assessment to determine students' literacy needs - Student and tutor are matched based on the students’ needs - Train volunteer tutors following the guidelines of Laubach Literacy Ontario - Create a Learner Plan based on the students’ needs - One-to-one or small group instruction - Computer instruction in Basic Computer, Internet, E-mail, Word - Workplace and Workforce literacy training - Support for both students and tutors There is no charge for tutoring but there might be a small fee for materials. Our Program: We provide a flexible learning program that allows students to progress at their own pace in reaching their individual goals towards self-development; access to improved education and/or greater employment opportunities. Confidentiality is assured!

The Education Foundation of Niagara raises funds to support over 36,000 District School Board of Niagara students. Funding is directed to schools or initiatives that are not eligible for ministry or board funding. We - help students in financial need - provide annual student awards and bursaries for post secondary education - support projects and initiatives in DSBN schools in areas of the arts; character education; healthy, active lifestyles; outdoor education and environmental stewardship; innovative practices - provide leading-edge resources to the community such as Prom Project Niagara - manage donor designated gifts in accordance with donor specifications.

The Norfolk Field Naturalists is a community-based, non-profit organization founded in 1962. The main aims of the group are the study, appreciation and conservation of our natural world. NFN members participate in monthly meetings from September to May, on the second Tuesday of each month. At each meeting, guest speakers present programs on various aspects of natural history. Field Outings and workshops are also held throughout the year, including events for the whole family. The NFN Is the steward of Rowanwood, a natural sanctuary on Big Creek near Walsingham. The club has taken an active role in protecting local areas of natural significance, including helping other groups raise funds for land acquisition and protection.

Located in Errington, BC on Vancouver Island in Canada, the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre is a world class wildlife rehabilitation facility specializing in the rehabilitation of black bears and raptors. The North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre houses the Arthur Knowles Museum of Nature and the May Neish Learning Centre, providing a unique educational opportunity to thousands of school children and the general public. The public is able to view non-releasable wildlife at the centre including eagles, several species of owls, falcons, hawks, ravens, and black bears. The North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization.

Family Services of the North Shore is an accredited, not-for-profit, community-based organization. For sixty years, we have provided education, support, and counselling to heal and connect the North Shore community.The Agency serves the City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, as well as the Village of Lions Bay, and Bowen Island. We also lead the provincial work in the prevention of eating disorders.Our annual budget is now close to 3.7 million of which one third or 1.3 million is fundraised. We actively work with our donors, funders, community partners and corporate donors to ensure the sustainability of effective and cost-efficient programs. Our vision is a connected community where people care for one another. We annually serve close to 7400 individuals and families through a broad range of social services to children, youth, adults, couples, and families from a diverse array of cultural and economic backgrounds.

The NTCI Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization for alumni and former staff of NTCI.

Our vision is to be at the forefront of positive change in the health and well-being of our community. Goals: To provide children with a learning environment that will enhance their development, and prepare them for a more successful entry into school and community. To address possible emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties in children through the provision of early identification and intervention strategies. To provide the resources, supports, and prevention interventions to families, thereby enabling the parents to build secure relationships and to enhance parenting skills.

Special Olympics Ontario provides athletes with an intellectual disability the opportunity to experience and succeed in sport. Special Olympics' athletes gain self-confidence and transfer the success from the playing field to become more active citizens in society.
