We, the Society of the Third Street Music School Settlement, believe that a knowledge and appreciation of music and the arts is fundamental to the development of each individual and that the arts provide unique opportunities for cultural exchange and community understanding. Thus we affirm that: It is the mission of the School to provide quality education in music and the arts, primarily to children of New York's Lower East Side, in an environment that nurtures achievement and creativity and offers to all who attend, regardless of artistic ability or economic circumstances, the opportunity to pursue their own personal development and enrich the quality of their lives.

The Voter Participation Center (VPC) works to ensure the New American Majority (NAM): people of color, young people, and unmarried women, engage in democracy equal to their presence in society through voter registration, mobilization, and education. VPC is a civic engagement organization that primarily uses direct mail and digital platforms in metrics driven, targeted programming steeped in research and learning about the populations it serves. VPC is committed to continuous innovation, evolution, experimentation and the development of new approaches to help realize the full voting potential of the NAM, and to working in partnership with local, state and national civic engagement efforts. Founded in 1981, AFAR is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to support and advance healthy aging.  AFAR helps researchers begin and further their careers in aging research and geriatric medicine.  Over the past 26 years, AFAR has awarded more than $132 million to approximately 2,800 MD’s, PhD’s, and students.

In support of Common Cause’s mission of promoting open, honest, and accountable government, the Common Cause Education Fund seeks, through research, public education and innovative programs, to: increase public understanding of the democratic process and, where appropriate, the need for change; empower citizens and promote their effective participation in all aspects of the democratic process at the local, state and federal level; and empower citizens to hold their government accountable.

Project Vote is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to the belief that an organized, diverse electorate is the key to a better America. Since 1994 Project Vote has worked to increase civic participation in the United States, focusing on three historically underrepresented constituencies: youth, people of color, and lower-income Americans.
