The ManCap Foundation was created to join the partnership of parents, teachers and others in our community committed to assist young people to cross the bridge from dependence to independence.

Morning Glory School Waldorf-inspired education is experiential, spirit-building but not religious, and interdisciplinary. Our programs from Pre-School to Grade 8 include Ministry-required academic subjects, as well as fine arts, music, German & French Languages, gardening, woodworking, handwork, and time spent in nature.

The NWT Literacy Council: • Supports communities to develop and deliver literacy programs • Trains people to deliver community and family literacy programs • Develops resources for family and community literacy programs • Researches literacy in the NWT in our official languages • Lends resources to communities and programs • Communicates regularly through our website – www.nwt.literacy.ca – newsletters, e-news and social media • Promotes literacy through International Literacy Day, Adult Learners’ Week, NWT Literacy Week, National Family Literacy Day, Aboriginal Languages Month • Raises money for community literacy projects and literacy awareness through the PGIs for Literacy • Nurtures relationships with a broad range of partners to share information on literacy, raise awareness of literacy and shape literacy policy • Offers plain language writing, editing and design on a fee-for-service basis

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School Council (CSC) is a non-profit organization. All monies raised will be used to enhance the educational experience of the students of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School.

Since 2001 the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) has worked to change lives in Oil Country through their support of a host of deserving organizations. The Foundation gives back in excess of $1 million annually to registered charities throughout Central and Northern Alberta who focus their activities on youth, education and health & wellness.

Food for the Poor Canada (FFPC) is an interdenominational, Christian charity whose purpose is to provide basic aid and sustainable development to those in need in Haiti and Jamaica. Our current focus is on education and health. With your help we are building schools and training teachers. We are feeding the hungry, building homes and providing healthcare to the sick. Food For The Poor Canada is an affiliated agency to Food For The Poor Inc. (USA), one of the largest international relief and development agencies in North America. Its programs are close to $1 billion dollars yearly with a 96% efficiency ratio. Food For The Poor Canada works with established partners in the region. These organizations are in charge of distribution of goods to churches, hospitals, schools and community leaders that work directly with the poor. They oversee and manage the construction of homes, water wells, schools, clinics and all other projects funded by FFP (USA) and FFPC.

The wildfires on the Carmel Mountain have been extinguished but the emergency continues! The Carmel is devastated and vulnerable to additional fires. The fires took 42 lives, destroyed hundreds of homes, consumed over 5 million trees and destroyed 25,000 acres of forest. The people of Haifa and the Carmel need your help. We must stand and help the families who have been evacuated and who lost their homes, we must rehabilitate the Carmel forest and we must strengthen the fire truck brigade with uniforms, equipment and replenish inventories of fire retardent chemicals to start. Corpus Christi College provides a liberal arts education where young people undertake their first two years of university, exploring liberal arts subjects in a faith-based transferable college program. Courses transfer freely to the university of their choice for the final years of their undergraduate degrees. Inner Winnipeg faces a number of challenges. Not every family or community has access to the same economic opportunities and social supports, or even to the basics that children need to succeed. Impoverished living conditions can result in a number of other challenges like neighbourhood violence, emotional trauma, homelessness, and hunger. Children living in these environments are coping with high stress levels that can impact learning and affect how well they perform in school. Access to education is a serious issue because it affects the quality of life and prospects of children, families, and neighbourhoods. It is a root cause of many other issues including joblessness, crime and violence, poor physical and mental health, and neighbourhood decline. The Westland Foundation believes that post secondary education is critical to the future of the students we support and to the betterment of our society.

Access to clean energy and light creates a healthy and safe home environment, enhances opportunities for education and contributes to economic development by increasing disposable income and encouraging entrepreneurship. Working in some of the most remote and undeserved areas in the world, LUTW provides technical training and builds the capacity of local service providers to transition away from unhealthy fuels and disposable batteries for energy and light.
