Since 1981, Shad Valley has perfected a great formula: identify outstanding young talent; help them develop an innovative mindset; encourage them to consider fields of study that increase innovation and economic capacity; and motivate them to make a difference. Grade 10, 11 & 12 students secure a place at Shad through a very competitive application process, and spend the month of July living in residence at a top university, surrounded by like-minded peers and inspiring mentors. Shad invests approximately $7000 per student, per year, to provide an experience that alumni describe as life-directing and life-changing. Participants pay a $3950 program fee, and many receive financial awards (scholarships for achievement and bursaries for financial need) to support their participation. Shad relies on contributions from the private and public sector, foundations, and individuals to provide this exceptional enrichment experience to hundreds of high-potential youth each summer.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Help us spread our message of diabetes management and prevention. The Canadian Diabetes Association works in communities across the country to promote the health of Canadians and eliminate diabetes through our strong nationwide network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners and supporters. In the struggle against this global epidemic, our expertise is recognized around the world.

Since 1957, the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies (CFHS) has worked to unite and strengthen humane societies & SPCAs while advocating for the humane treatment of animals in our homes, on the farm, in the lab, and in the wild. The CFHS's member societies help animals in communities across Canada. The CFHS represents these members on issues of national importance, and provides them with information and advice to help them better serve animals in their communities. Over the decades, the CFHS has been at the forefront of efforts to reform Canada’s shamefully lax animal cruelty law, to create rules protecting farm animals from undue suffering, and to improve the treatment of animals used in research. The CFHS receives no government funding. It depends on the support of caring Canadians to continue promoting responsible pet ownership, fighting for effective laws to protect animals, and strengthening humane societies and SPCAs nationwide.

The Hearing Foundation of Canada is a national charitable organization established in 1979, led by a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from the business and medical communities, many of whom have personal experience with hearing loss.

For 37 years, teams of students from over 350 Canadian high schools have participated in the Canadian Improv Games. Students form teams at the high school level and then compete in regional and provincial festivals for the right to participate in the National Finals. You cannot watch an evening of television or see a drama on stage in Canada that won't feature one or more of our alumni (such as Sandra Oh, a Golden Globe- and Genie Award-winning Canadian actress primarily known for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy, and Tatiana Maslany, star of "Cas & Dylan" and "Orphan Black". Please note, we keep our donors names protected and will not post them publicly.

Our Vision - All people have the resources they need for mental health and full participation in community life. CMHA-Edmonton Region is a non-profit volunteer agency. It functions as a community centre promoting mental health. It works in partnership with other community agencies to educate about mental health and illness, to advocate for better conditions in the community and to help people build strong supports for community life. This is accomplished through social action, public education, direct service programs, housing and other special agency projects. The agency's operation is governed by the Mental Health Act, the Health Information Act, the Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act, the Companies Act, the Protections of Persons in Care Act and the Personal Information Protection Act.

Indspire (the former National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation) is a registered national charity that provides the necessary tools for Indigenous peoples, especially youth to achieve their potential. Our focus is on supporting, innovating, and fundamentally transforming Indigenous education. To date, Indspire’s Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarship Awards program has awarded over $49-million in bursaries and scholarships to over 14,000 First Nation, Inuit and Métis students nationwide. Our other programs, Soaring: Indigenous Youth Career Conferences and Industry in the Classroom: Indigenous Youth Career Seminars, focus on introducing students to potential careers and opportunities. Each year we recognize 14 outstanding Indigenous achievers at the Indspire Awards. This nationally televised gala provides role models for Indigenous youth and celebrates the rich contributions First Nation, Inuit and Métis people have made to their communities and Canada.

The Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation became a reality on May 17, 1983. The first Board of Governors consisted of three prominent Occupational Therapists: Karen Goldenberg, President; Dr. Thelma Cardwell, Vice President and Dr. Isobel Robinson, Secretary / Treasurer. The purpose of COTF has always been to support research and scholarship in the field of occupational therapy. The Foundation’s focus has been on generating, receiving and maintaining funds and developing mechanisms for granting awards to individuals and organizations for research and scholarships. From 1983 to 1995, COTF and CAOT shared office space in Toronto. When CAOT relocated to Ottawa in 1995, COTF remained in Toronto. A decision was made in 2002 for the Foundation to once again share office space with CAOT in order to foster a synergistic relationship which would benefit the entire occupational therapy community. Since 2004, COTF and CAOT share office space in Ottawa.

If you can read and write, you can learn to do, and be, anything. That’s the idea behind CODE. A Canadian NGO with over 50 years of experience, CODE advances literacy and learning in Canada and around the world. With the generous support of its donors, CODE builds literacy by providing schools and community libraries in developing countries with well-written books that children can relate to, and teachers with the skills they need to bring these books to life.

Founded in 1969, The Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC) is a non-profit charitable organization that addresses environmental issues in British Columbia, with a particular focus on urban communities in Lower Mainland and the Georgia Basin. SPEC is a member-based society with an elected Board of Directors and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The Directors, members, staff and volunteers actively participate in SPEC’s on-going environmental projects.

Situated on a beautiful campus bordered by the sparkling Rideau River and Canal, Carleton University is just minutes from the heart of our nation’s government and enjoys easy access to the many organizations, associations and businesses which thrive in Ottawa.

Since Carousel Players began in 1972, over 2.7 million students, teachers and families have seen our productions. We regularly perform in schools across Ontario, and frequently tour to theatres in London and Toronto. Our award-winning plays have toured as far away as England and Japan. Carousel Players operates out of the historic Courthouse in downtown St. Catharines. We also present public performances for Niagara families in the Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre at 101 King Street. Our facility is actively used by local theatre, dance and music organizations from the Niagara region. Carousel Players was founded by Desmond Davis, a Professor of Drama at Brock University to serve youth in Niagara. Other artistic leaders of the company include Duncan McGregor, Pierre Tetrault, Kim Selody and Pablo Felices-Luna, our current artistic director.
