Georgia Center for Opportunity is an independent, non-partisan think tank dedicated to increasing opportunity and improving the quality of life for all Georgians. We research solutions to society’s most pressing challenges, promote those solutions to policymakers and the public, and help innovative social enterprises deliver results on the ground. The primary pathways to opportunity – strong families, quality schools, and stable employment – which historically gave children a chance to succeed, regardless of social and economic background, have experienced a rapid decline. We study and understand the obstacles along these pathways and work to break through the barriers that keep Georgia children and families from thriving. Our mission is to create opportunities for a quality education, fulfilling work, and a healthy family life for all Georgians.

Founded in 1909, The Piney Woods School's mission is to provide excellence in education within a Christian community through creation of an exceptional academic model which supports the tenet that all students can learn, develop a strong work ethic, and lead extraordinary lives through academic achievement and responsible citizenship, but might not have the opportunity to do so for financial or other reasons.

College Oak Montessori School is a preschool serving children ages 2- 6 in the Montessori tradition through their kindergarten year.

To prepare its students for admission to and success in college the school offers a rigorous curriculum that meets the university of California a-g requirements, with an emphasis on basic skills and core subject matter in English language arts, mathematics, social studies and science, and a comprehensive support program that promotes healthy youth development, including preparing the students to apply their knowledge and skills for the benefit of the community and environment.

Beechwood is a private independent school community of 170 students, 30 staff members, and over 100 families. The school includes one class per grade from Kinder Prep through Eighth Grade. Beechwood offers its young learners a safe, nurturing environment that addresses the academic and social needs of each child. Our mission is to improve the health of homeless animals and increase their chances for survival and adoption. Our ultimate aim is to eliminate animal homelessness and euthanasia. This promotes more humane treatment of animals, increasing their chances of survival and adoption. We:• Provide donated comfort and care items to shelters, rescue groups, pets of the homeless, pets of low-income seniors, pets of veterans, animal transports, fosters and wildlife sanctuaries.• Advocate for animal welfare through service-oriented humane education & public awareness anti-cruelty campaigns.• Raise awareness of the growing population of homeless animals being euthanized in overcrowded shelter systems, promoting adoption as the best option.
