Bread and Water for Africa® partners with local grassroots organizations in sub-Saharan Africa to create long-lasting solutions to poverty. Through our partnerships we address critical issues in the region, with a focus on orphan care, education, clean water, health care, and sustainable agriculture.

At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature — to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. We do so through science, law and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive. We want those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.

World Bicycle Relief’s mission is to provide people in need with access to independence and livelihood through The Power of Bicycles. People in developing nations suffer every day due to lack of transportation: without access to education and economic opportunity, people live in poverty; without access to healthcare, people die of preventable diseases and minor injuries.  Bicycles are a simple, sustainable way to bridge the transportation gap between needs and resources. Compared to walking, the only transporation available to many people in developing countries, bicycles represent an enormous leap in productivity and access to healthcare, education and economic development opportunities. We accomplish our mission by designing, sourcing and manufacturing bicycles designed to withstand African terrain and conditions while meeting the needs of students, healthcare workers, farmers and entrepreneurs. We encourage local economies and promote long-term sustainability by locally assembling bicycles, training mechanics, strengthening the spare parts supply chain, and providing high-quality, affordable bicycles to people in need of transportation.

The Lelt Foundation assists severely impoverished and malnourished families in Kara Kore, Ethiopia. Lelt has a Synergy Strategy which achieves success and sustainability through a combination of programs in education, nutrition, food security, orphan care, trauma counseling, microfinance and job creation for participating families.

Pediatric Orthopedic Project, Inc. (POP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving pediatric orthopedic care in the developing world through surgical mission trips, the education of local medical staff, and hospital facility improvements.Every year we travel to countries in the developing world with a team of medical experts (doctors, nurses, physician assistants and technologists) and provide free orthopedic surgery on impoverished children. Currently, we are focusing our efforts in Santiago, Dominican Republic where more than 250 children have received free surgical correction in 8 years. Our organization's priorities includes education of the local doctors and medical staff.
