RECOVERY ACRES SOCIETY

Recovery Acres is a 34 bed treatment facility in Edmonton, Alberta helping adult men recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment for those who wish to make the commitment and put in the work necessary to change their lives. Through life skills and addiction awareness modules, individual counselling and 12-step work, Recovery Acres helps men through the early stages of addiction recovery, building relapse prevention skills and the community supports necessary to eventually transition back into the community.

Green Action Centre is where Manitobans turn for information on greener living. Programs and services include the annual Commuter Challenge, Composting, Workplace Commuter Options, Living Green Living Well, Environmental Speakers Bureau for schools, Active and Safe Routes to School, Master Composter Training, Waste Reduction Week, "Bougeons en hiver: Jack Frost Challenge" and representations to decision-makers on policies concerning climate change, waste and transportation. RED DEER ROYALS CONCERT & MARCHING SHOW BAND

The Red Deer Community Band Society was formed by an Act of Council by the City of Red Deer in 1968. The Society was created to "administer and support Red Deer's Community Band program and was to include the product of first-class adult and youth concert bands and marching bands for the purpose of promoting the City of Red Deer as well as enhancing the cultural climate of the City". The Red Deer Royals Concert and Marching Show Band have been performing under the auspices of the Red Deer Community Band Society for over 40 years. In that time, the Red Deer Royals have developed into an award winning band performing and competing for audiences locally and internationally. The Red Deer Royals proudly serve as musical ambassadors for our City and The Province of Alberta. Since their inception, the Red Deer Royals have become deeply embedded in the culture of Red Deer as performing for and entertaining audiences of Central Alberta is the core of our band program.

the Kerry Wood Nature Centre & Historic Fort Normandeau

The Kerry Wood Nature Centre, Fort Normandeau and the entire Waskasoo Park Interpretive Program are part of the Waskasoo Environmental Education Society (WEES), incorporated on January 1, 2008 as a registered, non-profit charity under the Societies’ Act. WEES is a continuation under a new name of the former Normandeau Cultural and Natural History Society, incorporated 10 March 1989.

Ontario March of Dimes is one of the largest charitable rehabilitation organizations in Ontario, providing a wide range of services across the province to enhance the independence and community participation of people with physical disabilities. Our consumers include those who have cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, post-polio syndrome, and people who have acquired their disability through injury, or have experienced a stroke. We help people find jobs, acquire wheelchairs and other assistive devices, provide recreation programs to those who are socially isolated, and so much more.

The Rehabilitation Society is a member owned and operated organization that serves adults with any kind of disability or disabilities. By participating in our programs, our members have the opportunity to develop leadership, pre-employment, and life skills. Our peer supported literacy program is designed to help our members improve their ability to read, write and perform mathematical operations. The Rehabilitation Society also enhances the lives of our members by providing exciting social events throughout the year.

Fresh Start Support Services

Fresh Start Maternity Supports provides a safe environment and extensive support to pregnant and parenting women, many of whom are facing challenges related to addictions, mental health issues, abuse, and homelessness. Women may also come to Fresh Start simply to develop parenting and life skills, obtain support, and gain stability. Fresh Start operates as a faith-based, non-profit organization that serves all women regardless of age, race, ethnicity, personal faith or socio-economic status. While residents are not required to adhere to our religious faith, it is expected that all residents participate in all our faith-based programs/activities and behave in a respectful manner while attending. Fresh Start is not a detoxification, rehabilitation, mental health, treatment, or medical facility. Any individual seeking immediate intervention must first seek appropriate help from the abovementioned facilities. We are an abstinence-based program.
