The “Camp For Kids” grants were established by the BC Federation of Foster Parent Associations to alleviate some of the costs Foster Parent members encounter when sending their foster, adopted, or birth children to camp. There will be a maximum number of 20 grants issued per year. Who can apply? Any foster parent member in good standing who requires assistance to send their foster, adopted or birth child/youth between the ages of 6 –19 to camp (i.e. day camps, sports camps, away camps) Amount of Grant An annual grant of $250.00 per family will be awarded, and may be used to cover costs for one or more eligible family members to attend the camp of their choice.

Parent Support Services Society (PSS) is a provincial organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. PSS has offices in Vancouver, Prince George, Victoria and Nanaimo. PSS runs self-help / mutual aid support 'circles' throughout British Columbia primarily for isolated parents at risk of abusing their children. Circles serve ethnic, Aboriginal and georgraphic communities as well as special interest groups such as grandparents who are in the role of parents, or parents with children who have attention deficit disorders. Circles also welcome any parent who simply wants to improve how they parent and seeks support and parenting education information.

The MWCL is a private, non-profit library operating in Montreal West since the 1930s. Located in Elizabeth Ballantyne School, it serves both as a school library and as a community library.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex is a nonprofit volunteer organization that matches an interested, caring, adult volunteer with a young person between the ages of six and sixteen years. The relationship that develops is one of friendship which helps the child to see their worth and assume a positive place in society. The agency also utilizes a group work environment to increase the potential for individual growth and development, to provide opportunities for the development of peer relationships and to enhance the youth's career awareness and knowledge of community resources. The organization is committed to assisting both boys and girls who are facing difficult challenges in their personal lives, at home or at school.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton & Burlington provide quality mentoring relationships between adult volunteers and children at risk. Research clearly indicates that developing greater self-esteem in children, while building a strong relationship with a mentor, offers a recipe for improved social behavior and reduces agression and conduct disorders. Through the support of our donors we now provide several programs that have a direct impact on the well being and future of children within our community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington provides top quality volunteer based mentoring programs to the children of Clarington. Our agency has been making a difference in the lives of children living throughout the municipality of Clarington for over three decades. Big Brothers Big Sisters serves over 450 children through innovative programs such as 1:1 matches, In-School Mentoring, Big Bunch Group Mentoring, Couples Matches and the Champions of Change Leadership Development Program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult volunteers (18 and over) with boys or girls aged six to sixteen who come from primarily single parent families. Big Brothers/Sisters spend a minimum of 2 outings per month with their Little Brothers/Sisters doing a wide range of friendship-based activities together. Volunteers provide encouragement, guidance, and support. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor-supported volunteer organization and you can make a major difference for the kids simply by making a donation.

Mentoring is about the power of friendship. The volunteers and young people in our programs experience the magic of everyday moments when they are shared with a friend. Everyone needs someone to laugh with, share a dream with, and just hang out... with friends it's the little things that mean the most.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria serves more than 600 children and youth each year in the Greater Victoria region. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria positively affects our community by providing mentoring programs for children and youth, which enhance their sense of belonging, self-worth, resiliency and capacity to make healthy, well-informed choices. All of the children and youth in our programs need a friend, some a role-model and champion, others require assistance with learning or social issues, and others live in households where family members are challenged by isolation, poverty, or health or addiction issues. We envision a future when we are able to provide a sustainable, quality mentoring experience for every child or youth who expresses a desire to have a mentor because we know that the power of mentorship has a positive impact that lasts for a lifetime.

We believe every child should have the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, both as individuals and citizens –that by doing so, they will not only do well, they will also do good. Serving as role models, our mentors teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school, and of having respect for family, peers and community. Each time we pair a child with a mentor or introduce a group of students to an in-school program, we start something incredible – a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust and empowerment. Witnessing the transformation of a child into a confident, concerned and motivated young person is a remarkable thing. Ushering them into adulthood, seeing them grow into a successful, responsible member of their community and society at large is even more satisfying. Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto matches adults over the age of 18 to children between the ages of 6 and 18 in a one-to-one mentoring relationship that is fun and rewarding to both. For Decades, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto have been well known and respected for the important service they provide to children in our community. Your contribution will inspire a child in Toronto to reach his or her full potential through an on-going relationship with a caring adult. It isn't easy being a kid these days.
