Portland Center Stage’s mission is to create transcendent theatrical experiences and community programs that break down the barriers separating people. As one of the top regional theaters in the country, PCS produces an annual season of stage productions, develops new theatrical work, and builds community through a wide array of education and engagement programs. Blue Bear School of American Music was founded by a rock band in the early '70's. Why not teach Rock instead of Bach, the Blues instead of Beethoven? Including solid music theory courses along with professional mentoring, electric Band Workshops and Songwriting courses, Blue Bear continues to offer high quality popular music education at affordable prices to music lovers of all ages. Scholarships are awarded annually to promising talent ages 12-22, funded by contributions from individuals, music industry professionals and businesses. Blue Bear has an active outreach programs serving at-risk kids in the Bayview and Tenderloin districts and runs after-school music programs at over 15 sites in San Francisco. The mission of Kacico Dance is: To be a Kansas City based modern dance company of the highest quality presenting public concerts regionally in a variety of presentational forms for audience enjoyment, enrichment, and cultural education. A-To create and maintain a dance repertory of the highest quality facilitated by the artistic skills, knowledge, creative questioning, and experimentations and collaborations of the Co-Artistic Directors. B-To provide company dancers with a consistent, challenging training and rehearsal schedule allowing individual fulfillment of potential guided by the Co-Artistic Directors. C-To perpetuate the existence and exploration of modern dance and its developmental dance forms. D-To provide adequate compensation for all artists involved.
