THE MISSION OF THE JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM (THE "MUSEUM") IS TO PROMOTE UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF AMERICA'S ETHNIC AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY BY PRESERVING, INTERPRETING AND SHARING THE EXPERIENCES OF JAPANESE AMERICANS.

The Timken Museum of Art preserves the Putnam Collection of European old masters, American art and Russian icons for the education and benefit of present and future generations of San Diego residents and visitors. The Museum celebrates the important role of art as a way of enriching lives and nurturing the creative spirit in us all.

It is the mission of Planes of Fame Air Museum to preserve aviation history, inspire interest in aviation, educate the public and honor aviation pioneer and veterans.

To preserve and display artifacts and documents of the rail transportation industry in order to educate the public on the technology, history, and impact of the rail transportation industry in the West and more specifically in Southern California.

Old Cowtown Museum is an educational institution dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Wichita from 1865 to 1880. The sole mission of Historic Wichita Cowtown Inc. is to support the museum.

ART EDUCATION/HISTORY PRESERVATION

The Cartoon Art Museum's mission is to ignite imaginations and foster the next generation of visual storytellers by celebrating the history of cartoon art, its role in society, and its universal appeal. Our vision is to be the premier destination to experience cartoon art in all its many forms from around the world, and a leader in providing insight into the process of creating it. CAM presents exhibitions of historical and cultural significance, retrospectives of masters in the field of cartooning, and new talent from the Bay Area.

Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, Education & Cultural Center is dedicated to connecting people with 20,000 years of ongoing American Indian cultural expression. The Museum embraces cultural diversity and encourages responsible environmental action based on respect for Nature. Through exhibitions and programs, the Museum seeks to challenge and inspire all of us to improve the quality of our lives and our world.

The Center for Book Arts promotes active explorations of both contemporary and traditional artistic practices related to the book as an art object. The Center seeks to facilitate communication between the book arts community and the larger spheres of contemporary visual and literary arts, while being a model organization locally, nationally, and internationally within the field. We achieve this through exhibitions, classes, public programming, literary presentations, opportunities for artists and writers, publications, and collecting. Founded in 1974 and still located in Manhattan, it was the first not-for-profit organization of its kind in the nation, and has since become a model for others around the world.

The Paley Center for Media, with locations in New York and Los Angeles, leads the discussion about the cultural, creative, and social significance of television, radio, and emerging platforms for the professional community and media-interested public.

Goodwood's mission is to preserve and operate its historic Main House and gardens as a cultural and educational resource for our community and visitors alike. Goodwood is famous for its Main House's unique architecture, superbly restored interior, original furnishings, and for its magnificant gardens and grounds, all of which hold the history of North Florida. These assets exist for the benefit of our community today and to improve life in Tallahassee tomorrow.

The Auto-Archives Automotive & Motor Sport Library and Research Center, is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization formed in 2010. The mission of the archive is to preserve and document the rich history of the automobile, to provide both a physical and virtual resource for the study of the past, present and future of the automobile in all its forms, and to involve, inspire and educate the younger members of the community.
