The Cape Breton Regional Library has focused on the lifelong learning needs of its users since it was formed in 1950. The library provides information and entertainment for residents of all ages. Through thirteen library branches and two bookmobiles, the library offers services and materials to the public at no charge. A few of the services that can be accessed with a library card include, borrowing books, magazines and DVD/videos; interlibrary loans; programs for children and adults; free Internet and word processing in every branch; free computer training in some libraries; and access to on-line magazine databases.The Cape Breton Regional Library employs 60 people in a variety of jobs across the region.

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority is an environmental advisory and protection agency based out of Kingston, Ontario. Our jurisdiction spans more than 3,500 sq. km of land in 11 different municipalities, including Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville and Newboro. The CRCA owns more than 4000 hectares of conservation land. We purchase land to protect it from being developed, preserve natural features and wildlife habitat, provide public access to the natural environment and undertake water management projects, such as flood control. The Centre's role as an integral and leading force within the craft sector on Cape Breton Island is essentially educational, promotional and developmental. Programs offered at the Centre serve a broad range of craftspeople from the beginner and recreational to the emerging professional and the highly accomplished who derive their livelihood from the sale of their product. As part of its role in the development of the craft and design industry on the Island, the Centre coordinates professional development and business training programs for the craft professional to assist in the enhancement of existing businesses and in the development of new market and export opportunities.

Préville Fine Arts Centre is a non-profit music and arts school founded in 1974 by Belva Thomas. In a bilingual setting, we offer music and arts education to enrich the lives of families, children and learners of all ages and from a rich mosaic of backgrounds.

The Visual Arts Centre is the largest bilingual independent non-profit art school in Canada and has been involved in the teaching of art for over 65 years. As a vibrant contributor to the city's cultural life, the VAC offers accessible, excellent arts education through our School of Art and a respected venue for the exhibition of contemporary art through our McClure Gallery. The VAC represents a lively meeting place for artists, teachers and students where exchange and inspiration are fostered. With our open door policy and central location in the city, the VAC is an active promoter of the visual arts in the broader society.

Diaconal Ministry is rooted in and patterned on the humble loving of Jesus, who "did not come to be served, but to serve". Mark 10:45 FOUR-YEAR DIPLOMA IN DIACONAL MINISTRIES. Each of the first three years of this full-time program is "theme year" - one in education, one in pastoral care and one on social justice. During each theme year, students work at field placements in their home community and gather twice in Winnipeg for intensive two-week Learning Circles. Students also take external university courses. Degrees can be granted through joint agreements with University of Winnipeg and St. Stephen's College in Edmonton. ONE-YEAR CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION, PASTORAL CARE OR SOCIAL JUSTICE MINISTRIES TWO-WEEK LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MODULE, WHICH IS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR ALL OTHER CCS PROGRAMS.

CILT is a consumer-controlled, community-based resource organization. We help people with disabilities to learn Independent Living skills and integrate into the community. CILT operates on the philosophy of the Independent Living movement which was developed in response to traditional rehabilitation services models. CILT aims to develop and implement dignified social services that empower individuals. The donation you generously make goes entirely towards supporting the organization and its life-enriching programs and projects for persons with a disability.
