Founded in 1934 to stop the shooting of migrating hawks along its ridgetop, the Hawk Mountain mission is to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research and education facility. This mission is accomplished through integrated programs in scientific research, conservation education, monitoring, public visitation, Sanctuary stewardship, and professional conservation training.

The Friends of the Elephant Seal (FES), a non-profit organization established in 1997, is dedicated to educating people about elephant seals and other marine life and teaching stewardship for the ocean along the central coast of California. As a cooperating association with the California State Park, FES collaborates with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to address issues of the expanding Piedras Blancas northern elephant seal colony. Board members and over 100 docents/volunteer guides are uniquely positioned to contribute to education, science, research and wildlife conservation efforts relating to the largest mainland colony, estimated at 25,000 northern elephant seals.

Dedicated to the preservation of New Jersey's wildlife and habitats through education, conservation and rehabilitation. How we achieve this... Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge sits on 171 wooded acres on the edge of the New Jersey Pinelands. The Refuge includes the Woodford Nature Center, an outdoor housing area with more than 50 native residents, and a wildlife rehabilitation hospital. The overall mission of the Refuge is to serve as a community resource on the importance of protecting and enhancing healthy ecosystems for all. To that end, Cedar Run engages in: ecologically based land management; the operation of a Federally and NJ State licensed hospital facility that cares for more than 7,500 injured, orphaned or displaced native wild animals each year; the education of over 20,000 students annually through our various on-site and outreach programs; and serves as an active resource to the greater New Jersey community on all wildlife and habitat related questions and issues.

Florida Wildlife Hospital is open 365 days a year to admit native Florida wildlife. On average, 5,000 animals are admitted per year and there is never a charge for patient care. Our mission is to keep wildlife wild by providing quality, compassionate care. The Peregrine Fund's mission is to conserve birds of prey worldwide. The Peregrine Fund is responding to 21st century conservation challenges with a strategic plan based on the conviction of our founders—“we will succeed by using science to inform decisions and by not accepting failure as an option”—so that by the year 2050 we will have helped create a vision of success in which bird of prey populations and their ecosystems thrive; we have enriched the lives of local communities where we work and improved their future; we have earned the reputation and serve as global experts on birds of prey and their conservation; and raptors are valued by all humans. Our strategy stands upon three transformative outcomes: conservation, engagement, and capacity. Conservation will be achieved by preventing raptor extinctions, protecting areas of high raptor conservation value, and addressing landscape-level threats impacting multiple species. Engagement will be reached by inspiring people to value raptors and take action, serving as a catalyst for change, and investing in tomorrow’s conservation leaders. Capacity outcomes are centered on The Peregrine Fund’s capacity to apply our core values, promise, and guiding principles to complex conservation challenges. Capacity will be built by assembling the infrastructure, facilities and people, and raising sufficient funds to execute the actions needed to reach measurable, time-bound goals on an iterative five-year planning cycle.

The mission of the Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) is to unite communities to save coral reefs. We believe that to save coral reefs we must reduce local and regional threats in enough locations to ensure that reef-building corals can adapt to climate change.
