CPR is an animal rescue organization run solely by volunteers. Our primary goal is to save dogs from euthanization at shelters as a result of factors such as a lack of funding and space. These wonderful animals are put at risk because they have no one to claim and adopt them. We aim to give them the second chance that they so deserve. Our animals come to us from shelters around DFW and stay in foster homes where they are given the medical attention (vaccinations, surgeries, heart worm testing, etc…) and care that they deserve.
We rescue all species of animals from any form of abuse, neglect, or who have special needs; and introduce them to children who also come from abuse, trauma, or who have special needs for unconditional friendship and understanding! Children and adults learn together what unconditional love is all about. How to begin to trust and share the joy of understanding and looking with your heart and not just your eyes.
WE ARE A VOLUNTEER-BASED DOG RESCUE IN LOS ANGELES, COMMITTED TO MAKING MORE ADOPTIONS A LONG-TERM SUCCESS BY CAREFULLY MATCHING DOGS TO ADOPTERS, AND SUPPORTING ADOPTERS AND THEIR DOGS THROUGH THE TRANSITION AND BEYOND. WE RESCUE THE DOGS MOST IN NEED OF OUR TRAINING TEAM — THOSE WITH BEHAVIOR ISSUES — AS WELL AS DOGS WITH MEDICAL ISSUES, SENIORS, AND SOME THAT JUST CAPTURE OUR HEARTS.
The Hard Knocks Mission:With our individualized, respect-based training and decompression program, we will ensure more dogs find and keep loving homes. We will assist local shelters and rescues in rehabilitating abused and neglected dogs who are considered “unadoptable” due to anxiety triggered behavioral issues. We will provide training and resources for the entire community to promote safer interactions between dogs, their canine companions, and humans. In doing so, we will help reduce the number of dogs euthanized due to fear-based reactivity.
