Second Chance Rescue NYC’s mission is to reduce animal overpopulation in shelters, rescue and rehabilitate critically injured and neglected animals, and connect the community to services that enable animals to remain in their homes.

Joy of Pets Joy of Pets is deeply rooted in the organization’s heritage. This dimension suggests AHS is proud of its pets and enjoys the responsibility of compassionately stewarding the lives of animals. For many decades, the television show Pets on Parade, the Pet Telethon, and other less visible programs have highlighted the joy a pet offers. Joy of Pets evokes this emotion in potential forever families and begins to foreshadow how their lives can be enriched by an Arizona Humane Society pet. The Animal Rescue League of Berks County is a charitable 501(c)3 organization caring for over 5,000 animals each year to help them find second chances in a new home or to help reunite them with their grateful owners. For more than 70 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to care for the sick, treat the injured, comfort the unwanted, and protect the abused. We also offer human-animal support resources, low-cost veterinary services, animal control programs, and animal cruelty and humane law investigation throughout Berks County, Pennsylvania.

To build no kill communities – starting with a no kill Chicago – that respect and value the life of every cat and dog. To end the overpopulation of homeless animals through solutions, practices and education. To transform animal welfare by setting higher standards in the way animals are treated and developing a sustainable, solutions-based model.

PHS/SPCA is a private, independent, non-profit, and our scope of services goes beyond that of a so-called no-kill, or limited admission, facility. As an open-door shelter, PHS/SPCA accepts all animals brought to us, regardless of age, breed or size, and we’ve rehomed 100% of the healthy dogs and cats in our care since 2003 and promise to do this going forward. While rewarding, this isn’t our most challenging work and doesn’t define us. We accept our community’s sick, injured, abused, unwanted, stray, neglected and older animals; donations to our Hope Program enable us to help and rehome approximately 200 every month. (Sadly, private shelters in many communities never give them a chance). We rehabilitate wildlife, make spay/neuter free for our low or fixed-income residents, educate children, and investigate animal cruelty. PHS/SPCA is one of the few shelters in the entire state accredited by the American Animal Hospital association and we’re a gold-level GuideStar Exchange participant (click the seal below to access our GuideStar nonprofit report). We take our work and mission seriously, but also have fun. It's why we've adopted "Sit Happens!" as our Behavior & Training Dept slogan and have "Go Nuts” emblazoned across the back our of mobile spay/neuter clinic. Most important, we’ve earned our community’s trust, involvement and support.

Mission Blue is an initiative of the Sylvia Earle Alliance (S.E.A.) to explore and care for the ocean. We draw inspiration from the vision of our founder, Dr. Sylvia Earle, to ignite public support for the protection of Hope Spots – special places that are vital to the health of the ocean, the blue heart of our planet. By uniting a coalition of partners from around the globe, we are committed to inspiring an upwelling of public awareness, access and support for a worldwide network of marine protected areas ranging from the seamounts of the high seas to shallow sunlit reefs, and to supporting a significant increase in ocean protection from less than three percent today to 20% by the year 2020.

We raise awareness and resources for homeless dogs and the heroes who fight for them through storytelling, photography, film, advocacy, education, and support.

Guide Dogs for the Blind provides enhanced mobility to qualified individuals through partnership with dogs whose unique skills are developed and nurtured by dedicated volunteers and a professional staff. Established in 1942, Guide Dogs for the Blind continues its dedication to quality student training services and extensive follow-up support for graduates. Our programs are made possible through the teamwork of staff, volunteers and generous donors. Services are provided to students from the United States and Canada at no cost to them.

The East Bay SPCA is committed to the welfare of cats and dogs in the communities we serve. We strive to eliminate animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals.
