Helping Homeless Cats of Greater Victoria Society

Our rescue organization is run entirely by volunteers and there are no paid employees. Board members and volunteers provide extensive foster care for rescued cats awaiting permanent homes. We have several continuous fundraising activities but depend heavily on donations to support the cats in care and can only rescue more cats when funds allow. Because we take special cases, our vet bills can be high and we are always in need of donations. We are grateful for any and all help which makes a huge difference to the number of kitty lives we can save. The donations go directly to food, supplies, and medical care for our cats. we also support long term "permanent" senior foster homes and take the cats back when the people can no longer care for them or go into a nursing home.

WOODLANDS WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

WWS is dedicated to preserving and promoting a harmonious coexistance between humans, wildlife and nature. WWS maintains a year-round wildlife rehabilitation facility where all injured and orphaned animals are accepted, rehabilitated and appropriately released back into their natural habitats. Wildlife that is deemed non releaseable may find sanctuary at WWS, and be considered for the WWS Educational Program, that is conducted for local schools, organizations and interest groups. Wildlife rehabilitation is a full-time labour of love that is not funded by the government or any of its agencies. Our on-going endeavours to promote awareness and responsibility for our native wildlife and to rehabilitate the orphaned and injured, are supported solely by public, private and corporate donations. Help us make a difference now and for generations to come.

CHATOPIA Rescue

Animal Adoption Montreal (AAM) is a charitable animal welfare organization dedicated to working with animals in need. Established in 2005 we are volunteers working closely with shelters, animal control agencies and pounds rescuing animals from high kill situations, overcrowding, hoarding, seizures, private homes, strays and emergency situations. We provide medical care, sterilize, vaccinate and offer all that is necessary to assure they are healthy adoptable pets. We also work with like-minded rescues, SPCA’s and Humane societies to assist in special cases. Combined efforts from our volunteers and animal experts has given us the ability to not only save companion animals lives but to educate, encourage and promote animals in need. AAM currently has a unique purebred cat adoption center called "Chatopia" catered to the felines in our care.

Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary

Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary is currently home to 24 monkeys from a variety of different backgrounds. The farm is located approximately one hour north east of Toronto in the Sunderland area. Our residents include marmosets, ring-tailed and brown lemurs, capuchins, spider monkeys, baboons and Japanese macaques. We strive to provide a high quality of enrichment - social, food and structural. Unfortunately, owning primates as pets is legal in most areas of Canada, resulting in isolation, abandonment, abuse, malnutrition and neglect. We provide safe retirement to monkeys from these sad conditions and better their lives so they can live in peace and contentment. Please visit our website, facebook page and blog to learn more. Thank you for your support!

TURTLE VALLEY DONKEY REFUGE SOCIETY

The Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge main mission is the care and comforts of the donkeys residing at the Refuge. The Refuge is a permanent home for all donkeys who arrive at our gate and we work very hard to provide a safe and secure home for the resident donkeys. Our second focus is to provide a venue for Private tours for all special needs adults, children and seniors in our community. The tours provide our special visitors with an opportunity to connect with the donkeys and enjoy the healing characteristics of a Donkey Hug in a quiet farm atmosphere. Donkeys love people and enjoy the attention of the visitors as much as the people enjoy the benefits of the Donkey Magic.

PORT COLBORNE FELINE INITIATIVE

PCFI is an all volunteer org dedicated to humanely containing our community's free-roaming cat population & improving their quality of life through our community sneuter programs. Operation CatSnips, our trap-neuter-vaccinate-return program for unowned, free-roaming cats, ensures these cats are sterilized, vaccinated for rabies, eartipped and released back to their home territory where they receive daily food and water and shelter. SNAP is our sneuter assistance program for cats of Port Colborne residents who qualify as low income. KitKat is our foster and socialization program for unowned kittens. Kittens are then adopted out through our partnership with WHS. Each time a cat is sneutered the birthrate is lowered by hundreds, resulting in fewer homeless cats and kittens and ending the vicious cycle of reproduction. Since June 2009 we have enrolled 801 cats in our programs. With your help we will continue to make a difference in the lives of our community cats!

Band City Stray Cat Rescue and Protection Society Inc. (SCRAPS) is a non-profit organization of concerned volunteers who are committed to stablizing the feral cat population in the City of Moose Jaw through primarily non-lethal methods. We humanely trap feral cats, neuter/spay and vaccinate, and then release healthy animals back into the community. We work with other agencies to find home for those cats identified as adoptable. We promote responsible pet ownership by educating the public about the importance of spaying/neutering pets.
