The Centre for the Conservation of Specialized Species is a registered charitable organization based in Eastern Ontario, dedicated to the captive propagation and reintroduction of Threatened and Endangered wildlife as an insurance policy against extinction. The Centre has no political or interest group affiliations.
The Centre is home to approximately 100 birds of prey including Eagles, Owls, Hawks, and Falcons, fruit bats from Africa, Jamaica, and the Amazon River Basin, Vampire Bats from South America and prosimians. The Centre is currently the only facility in Canada successfully maintaining and propagating the Lesser Galago (Galago moholi).
