Our Mission

AIDS PEI is guided by the principles of health promotion, population health, and community development. It acknowledges that determinants of health such as gender, social support networks, education, social and physical environments, personal health practices, coping skills, culture, biology and genetic endowment must be addressed if community-based AIDS work is to be effective. It affirms the voices of people living with HIV or AIDS. It is dedicated to developing new and innovative prevention/education initiatives for targeted populations including Youth, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) community, Women, Intravenous Drug Users and those in correctional institutions. Theses initiatives enable individuals to manage their health through access to high quality support and educational programs.
