Our Mission

The charitable purpose of the Mind Foundation of BC is to raise funds for the programs and services offered by the BC Schizophrenia Society (BCSS), in addition to funding schizophrenia research.

The British Columbia Schizophrenia Society (BCSS) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1982 by families and friends of people with schizophrenia. Since then, BCSS has grown into a province-wide family support system with 28 Branches, 12 Regional Coordinators, 3 Program Coordinators, 6 Provincial Staff, and close to 1000 members who are dedicated to supporting each other, educating the public, raising funds for research, and advocating for better services for people with schizophrenia and other serious and persistent mental illness.
