Lunchbox Theatre celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2010 and is conveniently located at the base of the Calgary Tower. Well known for providing Calgarians a place to enjoy live theatre during their lunch hour, Lunchbox Theatre is a professional company that produces seven plays per year as well as an Emerging Director Showcase and the Suncor Energy Stage One Festival. Lunch hour performances take place Monday through Saturday at 12:10, Friday evening “Happy Hour” performance at 6:10 pm and a Saturday evening “Date Night” performance at 7:30 pm
Lunchbox Theatre is the most prolific producer of one-act plays in Canada. Since the inception of the Suncor Energy Stage One Festival, Lunchbox Theatre has developed close to 200 new Canadian works by over 100 playwrights with more than half of those receiving their world premieres at Lunchbox Theatre.
