Rosalie Hall has been serving Toronto communities since 1914. Over 2500 young mothers and children are served each year.
In Canada, approximatley 33,000 adolescents become preganant each year. In Toronto alone, reported rates of childhood abuse in pregnant adolescents are as high as 52% for sexual abuse, 74% for physical abuse and 78% for emotional abuse.(Study by Uiversity of Toronto & The Hospital for Sick Kids in collabration with Rosalie Hall)
Rosalie Hall, together with our supporters aim to break intergenerational cycles of abuse and poverty, that often lead to a young mother's present situation.
Rosalie Hall provides its services with compassion and non-judgment. We hope to educate others on the great needs of these vulnerable young families. We recognize the harsh realities that instability, abuse, violence, and poverty have on fragile lives and provide our programs and services to address the complex lives of many of the young parents served.
