Giraffe Laugh

My mom called Giraffe Laugh when she found bruises on my arms. The shoes that my mom brought for me were never on, and my feet were always cold. The lady who took care of me was always busy doing other things, she never held me, and my mom never looked happy when she picked me up. I was hungry a lot, and so I was always happy to see my mom when she came to get me. I cried when she left, and sometimes when I would cry a lot, they put vinegar in my mouth to make me stop. When I got to Giraffe Laugh and got a new teacher, I was happy. I got to play with other kids outside and eat a lot. If I cried somebody held me and tried to make me feel better. My mommy smiles more and hugs my teacher, and now she laughs a lot when she picks me up. I’m happy I’m here because I wear my shoes now, and my feet aren’t cold anymore.
