Pledge to make a difference, together.
Guadalupe Center’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education for the children of Immokalee.
Walden is a bright and energetic first grader at Lake Trafford Elementary. This fall when he joined the Guadalupe Center After-school Tutoring program he was performing below grade level in reading. Typically first graders should be able to identify a minimum of 70 sight words. Walden only knew 40. Through strategic academic support, Walden is thriving and now knows more than 120 words! In addition to gaining confidence in his literacy skills, he is also working on sportsmanship and being a good listener. Walden's story is one example of how a strong educational foundation leads to success.
Since 1984, Guadalupe Center's mission has been to break the cycle of poverty through education for the children of Immokalee. We’re currently reaching more than 1,891 students per year with three extraordinarily successful educational programs. These include Early Childhood Education, After-school Tutoring and Summer Enrichment, and Tutor Corps. Guadalupe Center empowers students each year to become independent thinkers and life-long learners.
